We spent a couple of days next to the sea in Sitges and made several trips to Barcelona.
I gave the 300mm another try for the shots in Barcelona. This time, things were much better than on the previous occasion with this lens. I discovered a new feature in my camera that makes manual focussing much easier.
Nonetheless, I ended up buying Fuji's 16-80mm zoom lens in a photo shop in Barcelona. Thank god for Google translate! The conversation with the sales guy would have been much harder without. I used the new lens only in a few of these shots but I am really looking forward to taking it out for a spin.
In an act of breathtaking stupidity, I lost my 27mm pancake, therefore (for now) I have the somewhat weird combination of a 16-80 mm zoom and a 300mm fixed focal length with manual focus but no normal lens.
Let us see how this bizarre lens repertoire influences my work. Lordy!
I had always noticed the many people transporting things in the narrow streets of Barcelona, but this time I started to pay a bit more attention to them.
I only managed a handful of shots but this is a topic I will pick up again in my next visits. These guys deliver goods, collect scrap metal, transport building material and are mostly invisible in plain daylight between all the tourists.
For the photos in Sitges I used a set of ND filters and tried my luck with long-term exposures (well sort of long-term - 30 seconds in bright sunshine). The first 3 shots were taken like this.
